The history of MCI

New technologies have had many impacts on our lives in the last two decades and have greatly changed our lifestyle. Mobile phones are one of the phenomena that have overshadowed the lives of human societies. In this regard, the first stage of the launch of mobile phone technology began in 1994 with capacity building for 9,200 numbers in the city of Tehran. On August 10 of the same year, with the handing over of 4 SIM cards to the Presidential Institution, the official supply of SIM cards in Iran began for the first time. Therefore, due to the need and demand of the people for this technology, activities were carried out in accordance with the global orientation for the development of the mobile phone network in the higher goals of the country's telecommunication complex. At the end of 2003, this network had 3,450,000 subscribers, which has reached about 68.5 million numbers now (by Hamrah-e-Aval). Currently, in addition to this increase, the Hamrah-e-Aval network covers more than 70,000 kilometers of roads and 1,245 cities.

Accordingly, during the third plan, 4,590,590 mobile phone numbers were assigned, which has faced a growth of 935 percent, and the mobile phone penetration rate increased from 0.78 percent at the beginning of the third plan to 7.5 percent at the end of the program, and the first three provinces in terms of penetration rate at the end of the third plan, Tehran, Isfahan, and Yazd, as well as in terms of the performance of handing over mobile phones to Tehran, Isfahan, and Fars They were the first. The Council of Ministers, in its meeting on 05/08/2004, based on the proposal No. 100/13897 dated 05/08/2004 of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and based on Articles 2 and 4 of the Law of the Third Economic, Social and Cultural Development Plan of the Islamic Republic of Iran – approved in 2000 and the Decree No. 76016/1901 dated 14/07/2003 of the Supreme Administrative Council in the implementation of paragraph B of Article 1 of the said law – by reorganizing and changing the name and amending the Articles of Association of Iran Remote Sensing Center to Iran Mobile Communications Company, the company's articles of association with a capital of 2000 billion Rials and all the tasks of mobile communications affairs of the Telecommunication Company of Iran were assigned to the Mobile Communications Company of Iran.

With the seriousness of the privatization of the country's telecommunication industry and the importance of being present in the commercial competitive market, this company has had its own commercial "name", "emblem", "color" and "slogan" since 2007. Also, in 2010, after the privatization of the Telecommunication Company of Iran, the company was transformed from a private joint stock to a public company.
The special services that Hamrah-e-Aval subscribers are currently enjoying include 3G, 4, 5G Internet, First Wi-Fi, My Mobile Online Services System, Turquoise Club, Child SIM Card, Student SIM Card, Call Transfer and Waiting, Group Call, FDN Service, Call Limitation, Fax and Data Connection, SMS, Voice Message, Caller, Mobile Payment and International Roaming Service.
